2012 Scholarship Program

Many thanks to former CP President Phil Gregory, who in 2005, had a vision – to create a program with the belief that “now” was the time to get our students thinking about the ethics involved in business matters.  Thus was born the “Catholic Professionals Scholarship Program”, now in its 7th year.
We must realize that these young adults will be the business leaders of the future.  Their ideas will influence the direction government and businesses take regarding ethical decisions.  It is important to get these young minds of our future leaders pointed in the right direction, and expose them to a life of focusing on the importance of ethical thinking.
Therefore our goal this year was to test the creative thinking and writing skills from six local Catholic High Schools in the area of business ethics.  This was a record-breaking year in the number of essays submitted (over 250).  Thank you to all the students and teachers for participating!   All were winners, but only six outstanding ethics essays could be selected.
At the March 10th Catholic Professionals Annual Scholarship Breakfast, the following essay contest winners were honored and presented with a $1,000 scholarship each.
During the awards program, each student candidly shared their ethics essay viewpoints of business success and Christian values based upon his or her upbringing, Catholic education, and role models.  It was a proud moment for everyone, but especially for the parents and school faculty and staff members who attended to celebrate this occasion.

Thanks to everyone who made this event possible, especially our members who supported the scholarships with their generous donations.
